Regional Medical Director - Outpatient
Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as our Regional Medical Director!
In this critical role, the Regional Medical Director in collaboration with the program director(s) and BHS Division leadership, provides leadership to medical staff and ensures the quality of psychiatric care provided by assigned programs; provides direct clinical services to program clients; participates in regional and/or organizational efforts and committees to promote effective risk management, health and safety, service integration and quality care.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide psychiatric and medication evaluation and medication management and crisis/urgent care appointments for assigned Outpatient and Urgent Care individuals
- Provide clinical consultation on a planned and emergency basis to Riverside’s regional programs, which may include Emergency Services, Day Treatment, Partial Hospital, Outreach/wrap around and/or other programs as identified.
- Responsible for collaborative hiring of program psychiatrists and prescribing nurses in conjunction with Program Director and/or Division Vice President/Assistant Vice President.
- In conjunction with Program Director(s), provide supervision/oversight of program psychiatrists and prescribing nurses.
- Provide trainings on psychopharmacology and medication assisted treatment to program staff.
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours with hybrid opportunities
- On-site presence needed between 4 Outpatient locations: Cambridge, Lynnfield, Newton, and Somerville

Required Skills
- Thorough and current knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication assisted treatment
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word products, electronic health records, etc.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing in language that can be readily understood by the majority of programs’ staff, funders and people served
- Ability to effectively perform job responsibilities in fast paced, high stress environment
- Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle
Required Experience
- Current licensure and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry in Adult Psychiatry required.
- Current license and certification by the America Board of Psychiatry in and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years of practice as a psychiatrist, post board certification required.
- Current DEA licensure required.
- Experience working with people with serious and persistent mental illness required and substance use challenges
- Prior experience providing clinical supervision required.
