The Role
As a Vice President in the Asset Management Treasurer's Office, you will work with senior members of Asset Management, specifically collaborating with Fidelity's alternatives center of excellence in evaluating new alternative products and designing, executing, and maintaining oversight programs for significant business processes, including accounting policy, financial reporting, valuation, expenses, distribution and governance. This position will work across the Treasurer's Office and with various Fidelity teams such as the back-office functions, legal, risk, compliance, and investment divisions in considering product structure, unique aspects of operations and financial, regulatory and tax reporting. You will be part of the team that assesses oversight practices and operational readiness of these products, following the products through to launch and continuing through the on-going operations. This role requires strong influencing skills as well as the ability to maintain and improve business partner relationships.
The Expertise
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferable.
Minimum 13+ years industry or equivalent experience.
Experience with various alternative asset classes, with a focus on derivative instruments and liquid alternative strategies
Technical and business knowledge of various structure types (e.g., hedge funds, mutual funds, master/feeder, multi-class, open and closed end, etc).
Certified public accounting certification (CPA) preferred
Knowledge of operational risk management and internal controls, governance and oversight processes
Understands the key elements of a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program for an alternative's asset manager
Experience evaluating opportunities for improvements in process through technology solutions
