The role provides strategic leadership for tax-related matters within North America. The executive leader will oversee a complex tax landscape, ensuring compliance with intricate tax regulations while optimizing the company's tax position. Key responsibilities will include strategic tax planning, M&A tax due diligence, executive tax advisory, and leading a high-performing tax team. By fostering strong relationships with tax authorities and leveraging advanced technologies, you will drive significant value and mitigate tax risks for the organization. This role serves as the main point of contact for Rentokil Initial Group on US tax matters.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees the development and implementation of the company's global tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
Ensures strict adherence to complex federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations, mitigating potential legal and financial risks.
Proactively identifies and executes tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's tax position, maximizing shareholder value.
Actively participates in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions, providing strategic tax advice and managing tax-related risks.
Provides expert tax counsel to executive leadership on complex tax matters, including personal tax planning and compliance.
Cultivates strong relationships with external tax authorities, auditors, and legal advisors to effectively resolve tax issues and minimize disputes.
Leads and mentors a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
Drives the adoption of advanced tax technologies and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data-driven decision-making.
Identifies, assesses, and mitigates global tax risks, including transfer pricing, international tax, and indirect tax.
CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience
Minimum of 15 years of tax experience, preferably in a service industry.
Strategic knowledge of finance principles and practices
Knowledge of business strategy and operations

Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to analyze and interpret financial data and solve complex financial problems

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, including transfer pricing, indirect tax, and corporate tax.
Leadership: The ability to lead and inspire a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex tax issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and resolve complex tax issues, often under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities, auditors, and legal advisors.
Project Management: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and deliver results on time and within budget.
Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Major is required.
MBP, CPA, and/or a law degree are desirable.
